I've read & heard lots of places that the first thing a woman (and presumably a TGirl) looks at in a man is his shoes ! That this is really important for making a good first impression.

This just seems so ridiculous to me, but I've heard it so often that it is either true or a well-entrenched urban legend. Girls, what do you think ?

Like most guys, I'm sure, I usually don't manage to look down that far. :D

Everybody is different. Shoes don't always matter to me; eventually I will get to them, but it's not a top priority. The face, the hair, the body, the clothes. Typically, that is the order. And then come personality which will make or break the interest.

I love shoes, but if a man is more concearned about shoes than I am... we're going to have a problem.

I read that somewhere. It's an old etiquette thing, probably something from the 1950s. If a man wears nice shoes, he must be a good provider or some bogusness like that. I know too many guys who don't make much money who have very nice shoes (> $200) and clothes. Same with cars, apartments, etc. It all depends on what your priorities are.

idont know maybe you are right, actually thats the next thing i look at, the first thing i look at is the face then i look str8 down to the shoes  after that i try to smell him see if he smells ok ........doesnt matter about the top or pants he could be in work clothes  but face then shoes then smell mmmmmmmmmm

Oh I can hear the conversation already.

"I'm telling you Sally this is the man I'm gonna spend my life with."

"What makes you say that?"

"For God's sake! Look at those shoes!"

LOL

i definitely think womenn notice shoes. it may not be the first thing, since face and general body type are unavoidable firsts. but plenty of women have complimented me on my shoes as one of the first things they say.

I would think that if a girl complimented your shoes first, then that would means thats the only thing she found appealing, I like to notice eyes and smile first, then scan down, shoes being least of my worries

I would think that if a woman is concentrating on shoes above all else, she's probably some sort of introverted geek or a gold digger :D

Seriously, I think this is some throwback etiquette rule from the 50s when women were more passive and looked for husband material in men. They can then boast to their friends that their husband does such and such and they own a big house and have 3 cars and 2 kids and a dog. Nowadays, it's more impressive for a guy to own a kickin' condo, a Bimmer, a dog, and plenty of electronic gadgets. Someone who could afford all of that probably has nice clothes anyway.

shoes are a nonaggressive thing to compliment. and an easy thing to say without the inititial conversation being too physical.

i didn't mean that i never get other compliments, i was just saying i have been complimented on them in the past- along with other things.
what most girls comment on is my chest. the girls that are drunk or are just extroverts come over and grab my chest then proceed to feel the rest of my muscles (not that i am a bodybuilder, but i take care of myself)
after they get to know me i am most complimented on my intelligence.
okay, right now i feel like an ass for talking about myself so much. i am coming off conceited. sorry...

In the picture I'm wearing thigh high leather heeled boots. Just though that would be something worth mentioning.

awww that's cute!

shoes would definitely tell a man's sense of style, and his neatness...
