Awesome front page headline, 2 page spread in Sunday Boston Globe on trans pre-teen, her twin brother & family, & the GeMS clinic in Boston:

Led by the child who simply knew
The twin boys were identical in every way but one. Wyatt (name now legally changed to Nicole) was a girl to the core, and now lives as one, with the help of a brave, loving family and a path-breaking doctor’s care. Nicole's family is very supportive, and she is very close to her twin brother, Jonas.

GeMS, modeled on a Dutch program, is the first pediatric academic program in the Western Hemisphere that evaluates and treats pubescent transgenders, founded by endocrinologist Norman Spack & urologist David Diamond. They advocate thoughtful screening of the transgendered child and family, pre-pubescent blockers, HRT, and eventually GRS at the age of consent (18).
