I can understand that desire, but I agree with you that it's far to limiting. Which Webster's are you citing? There are so many. The first sense of bisexual dates to 1824 and is indeed a reference to possessing attributes of both sexes (hermaphroditic), but this term is no longer has much currency in relation to humans; instead, the term intersexual is ascendent.
