Someone brought to my attention that on another forum a philipino ts who claims to be japanese mentioned foreign films like memoirs of a geisha are the best. The movie was shot by Rob Marshall the director of Chicago. therefore it's not a foreign film. What a dummy this ho is.
Anyhow anyone seen the film? I also heard King kong was excellent even though it's 3 hour long. Feedback??

no, the person was suggesting that foreign countries produce better films than america, NOT that american films containing foreign story lines are better.
p.s.- no offense intended. i mispelled filipino. i do think its wrong to pretend your japanese and denounce your filipino heritage which is something the CD in question does make a habit of.

may be a lil off subject but i love asian cinma, they dont pull any punches and i love the fact that there isnt always a "happy ending" anybody see "Oldboy" is a korean flick with a wicked twist (in all honesty the twist could have been stronger but totaly didnt see it coming)

well, maybe she is... Philippines is a melting pot! we've been colonized by spanish for 333 years, americans for 40 years and the japanese for 5 years, before spain conquered the philippines, malaysians, indonesians, indians, and chinese people were living already here... as well as the original filipinos and they marry each other so and so, look at me, i'm FILIPINO but i do have spanish and chinese roots... being mixed raced is part of our heritage, we're still Filipinos, and for the record, there are lots/many/millions of Filipinos all over the world... just take United States for example the State of Hawaii, and California, there are lots of Filipinos living in the states and of course on the other part of the world like Japan, Spain, UK, Italy, Australia etc.

Thank you for that history lesson. But i'm referring to a specific person who never mentions they are filipeno. Someone who says they are japanese. Not of japanese heritage and all complicated shit u was talking about. Gurl u took it back to roots. damn. lol. If you are born in japan you are japanese. If you are born in the philepines but u have a japanese person in your family your filipino with japanese roots. Very simple. The whole purpose of this thread was really to point out she was bragging about a movie being about her culture "japanese" when she isn't even japanese to begin with and then being wrong about the movie being foreign on top of that. It was american. lol.
