Has anyone besides me had the pleasure of seeing this yet?

Girls, let me just say that this movie is not just for the men out there or people that love action. There really is a heart and soul to it.

I originally didn't want to see King Kong. I was given the wrong impression of what King Kong was most of my life from the poor 70's movie, to spoofs, and to cartoons. I had always thought that he was a bad guy and that America made him up as an answer to Godzilla.

Until about 2 weeks ago I had not known there was a 1930's version and that there was largely more to the story than what I had grasped as a child.

Let me just say that this film (possibly the first time I have ever called a movie a film) is one of the greatest I have ever seen in my life. Fantastic, amazing, and very full of emotion.

Did anyone else besides me cry?

thank you, Rose. you've just answered a question for me. ever since i heard of the project, i've lived in mortal fear of another Jessica Lange disaster. being a tad older, the thirties vintage Kong is the one i knew so very well, so that firt remake sickened me.

now i'm eager to see this new rendition. any thoughts on its suitability for a 9-year old girl who thrived on the latest Harry Potter?

oh...btw....did you ever see the '30's film "Mighty Joe Young?" :?:

Well, there is not a large amount of swearing or blood, but I could see her crying at least at the end. Might be difficult for her to sit through 3 hours though.

I went with my best friend Tionne and seen the sneak preview on tuesday night. It was an amazing movie. I wasn't sure if I would like it or not. But it was soooooo good. I wanna see it again. Poor monkey.

geez, i can be such a dolt sometimes. the ending hadn't even dawned on me.....sheesh. <ponders> i guess its time to do the fatherly probing and prepping. then back away and opt for <gulp> Narnia if it seems iffy.

the length doesn't bother me a whole lot....except for crowded timing in our weekly day together. if the movies got her attention...she's locked in for the duration

I thought it was alright. Way too long, though.

I give it a 3 out of 5.
