Ok, here is my question. Is it possible to be into transexuals without being gay? How is it that I am attracted to women, and transexuals, but I think guys are nasty? I mean I have dated a couple TS's before, and we did it all, but I never think of myself as being gay! Is that normal? To me a transexual is a woman with a "package" instead of a man with tits. I dont have any issues being a bottom (if I had enough to drink) once in a while, if that is what my partner wants. I was just kinda' curious what others thought?

Probably the oldest question in this particular book. Short answer: no, you're not gay, though you're not exactly straight either. I don't think you're bi, either, at least not by the traditional definition. Gay means one is sexually attracted to one's own sex. Hetero means you're attracted to the opposite sex. Bi means you're attracted to (or at least sexually comfortable with) both sexes. But if you're not into guys but are attracted to both GGs and TGs, then you're in that category that as yet has no name: transheterosexual, perhaps.

Now you may well have some gay or bi leanings if you enjoy those aspects (being bottom or giving oral to a TG), but I still wouldn't say you're gay or even bi, maybe bi-curious. But the best answer is, don't worry about labels. They really don't mean much, except in a record store when you're looking for alt rock (what a loose classification that is) or blues or country and western. Instead, just enjoy what you do and fugeddabowt what category you fit in.

I have had other conversations about this too... I think it is a "how do you identify yourself" that is most important. If you identify as str8, then live as a str8 man. I identify as a str8 man, yet in the bedroom I'm a 85% bottom (15% is left to those rare occasions).

Live your life how you identify yourself. One thing though, don't be ashamed of your attraction to the transgendered woman (that identifies as a woman or man (if they're FTM)). Some str8 men do this and that builds some feelings in the TS community that they are just sex objects.

There's a couple of factors there: is the boyfriend in transition or merely a crossdresser? If the boyfriend is in transition, then the next factor is whether the other guy is attracted to him as a man or as a TS in her early phase? I don't think it matters any, really, but if you need to label, then you need to define the terms, and if the attraction is, at least in part, to the man rather than the woman emerging, then the subject is probably bi.

I find it interesting and fascinating that "straight" could mean just one thing while "gay" gets labelled on top of everything else out there that is not "straight." If that's the case, then I myself think it'd be a lot more fun and less boring to be a part of the "gay" group. :D

i can sympathize with Cali a bit. i to view Transsexuals as women that just happen to have similar antomy. I consider myself straight & not so bi because on the nature of my attractions over my sexual activities.
Sexuality is about what your desires, needs, & turn ons are. Its not who you fuck but who you date. Its idiotic societal standards that dictate that if a man doesnt mind handling a penis other than his own, that is GAY. Gender is defined by character traits rather than specifically tied to genitalia.

You date women & transsexuals but not men at all. You have no desire to date men. Sounds straight to me.
If you got issues with being considered gay cause you date trans women, either get over it & embrace it or stick to dating real girls.
