Updates 2009!

Greetings TGT Fam!

Hope 2009 is treating everyone well. Just dropping by to check out the scene, see what's new and give a few updates on what's been going on with me.

First off, all is well at work. Even though there is a nationwide financial crisis and there is a possible threat of layoffs by the end of this fiscal year, I'm fairly confident I don't need to worry. I've been taking it upon myself to learn more from my supervisor, outside of what my position requires. It takes some of the stress and work off of him, but also make me a more valueable asset. Other than being eye candy for the place *lol*

I have met all of my goals for January and I am thrilled! I addressed my lateness issues at work (I've never been a morning person). Saving money has been successful thus far and I've resume my laser electrolysis. I've also been getting out and hanging out with friends a lot more. I stay in the house way too much. I probably wouldn't mind if I had more company, but the girls in Philly are stingy *lol*

I have absolutely no idea what's going on, but I've been attracting A LOT of attention from men, women and even couples. It's like as soon as the calendar turned over, I was on the menu *lol* My friends say it's a vibe I'm giving off now. For those who watch the L word, I've been told I'm giving a combo of Bette, Shane and Tasha. Quite a mix huh? I've also been told I've given a look to a few people like a lion looks at fresh meat. A slight revelation...I think I may be a bit of a sex addict. Now if only my opportunities can keep up with my wants. The last girl I had over, I ended up hurting. She said "I feel like I just got gangbanged." I guess I did get a little caught up in the moment.

As of yet, I still haven't gotten my ass worked on (take that however you like it) but it'll happen soon. 'Til then, I'm dieting, working out a bit and saving, Saving, SAVING!!!

Other than that, all is well. Can't complain about anything at all. Life is lovely, I'm looking good and feeling gorgeous!

Finances are settling out, but I may end up downshifting in the job (But, thankfully, not in the pay scale) to somewhere near PA or in Joisey. Pipes are in order, a new cat was captured, and life moves on.

We still need to do the drinks/dinner thing sometime. Mayhaps on one of my decompression days in Fort Washington.

Can't say where your skin tone fits in re HB, but be pleased with what you've got because it's attractive.

Okay this is a bit late, but wanted to share. As many of you know, I've been looking for a second job for some time now. Although lately my efforts have slowed, I'm still on the hunt. Last week I saw an ad in the Philadelphia Gay Newspaper. There was an ad for cashiers/cleaners at a gym. My first thought is, this should be cool! I can be a cashier at a gym in the evenings. Better yet, it's a gay gym so it should be a fairly cool and open atmosphere. I went there on my lunch break to pick up an app. Let's just say I didn't get a warm welcome. I was buzzed in and a taller, older gentleman "greeted" me.

"May I help you?" he asked
I respond, "I saw an ad in the PGN for cashier and I'd like to apply."

He responds, seemingly with a 'tude, "This is an establishment for gay men, but I'll give you an application anyway to fill out."

It's no secret that the gay and lesbian communities don't care too much for us. Still, I figured it would be worth a shot. I debated all this week whether to take my app back or not. After talking to a few close friends, I decided not to. Amazing how even the "most discriminated" can discriminate so easily. Or...could it be that they didn't "clock" and wondered what the hell would a woman want to do working in a gay gym? I doubt the latter very strongly, but it's a possibility.

At least they covered there asses on one thing. The cute lil' application says they are an equal oppurtunity employer, etc....

GOTTA LOVE IT!

Descrimination sucks! I treat everyone i meet with nothing but respect and kindness yet everyday at work i am treated like crap and berated for being different. It's heartbreaking but i take it with a smile and keep working. Sometimes i think lifes just not worth it anymore. People are cruel but i need the job and the money and hours are o.k. but... AAARRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!! I feel better... I hope things work out for you Mystique :)

There are so many reasons why employers discriminate. It might be because you're trans, it might be because you look too genetic girl-like, it might be because of skin color, it might be because of a certain look they want. I think it's usually the latter because they already had an idea of who they wanted for the job, so they're just looking for that type of person, which happens to be a beefy muscleboy. Ten years ago when I was in corporate America, I got rejected for lots of jobs because I didn't have that look they wanted. I figure it's probably for the best that I'm more of a behind-the-scenes computer person than a client-facing technical sales person.

Have you tried bookstores or coffeeshops? I would think they would have much cooler people to work for. Maybe you know a friend of mine named Cindy. She's a sweetie who works at the big department store at 13th and Chestnut.

Greetings all! Time for a few updates. April showers really do bring May flowers.

Last month was long and trying. My search for a second job has eased, due to so much stress. It's the first time in a while I really felt off pace and out of focus on everything. I won't go into detail though 'cause that was last month *lol*

After paying off my student loans last year, I had something to look forward to this year. I finally get to enjoy my tax return!!! This is truly a first and I'm loving every thin red cent of it.

I'm almost done designing my new tattoo. Just need to make a few final touches and I'll be ready to get inked.

I'm finally going to get my hips and ass done. As of now, it looks like I'll be getting it done next Saturday. I'll take a few before pics sometime this week and post them before then.

Hmm...I think that's it. Of course theres a lot more going on, but those are the biggest key points. I hope everyone is enjoying the spring so far. It's gonna be a HOT summer!
