I'm just curious if there are any movies out there (Not porn) that in your opinion properly portrayed the TS community?

They call this the pretty woman for TS movies but with no happy ending based on a true tale but in life the girl commited suicide.But its a good movie as it shows men as users looking for tricks and the desision of a TS getting a sex change and living a normal life.Plus the pressures of life its based in italy and she is a brasilian TS.The movie features true TS not guys in dress like most movies do.Its a dark film but them again so much of the TS world is drained by drugs(I mean the real bad stuff),tricks and lies by men that it makes this movie real but she did have a guy who loved her but it wasn't enough check it out you will be glad u did.

I saw Princesca on Sundance channel and I thought it was really good, as it showed the lead actress as a strugglin working girl that wouldnt bend her wants for anything.

There's one I forget the name of about a transgendered girls volleyball team, in Thailand.

Soldier's Girl... this was such a good story. You have to rent this. The acting is wonderful. I felt so bad for Calpernia.

Normal... this story might be a little harder for some of us to relate to because most of us didn't want to start transition well into our 40s or 50s, but it's a good story.

Boys Don't Cry... after watching this, all I can say is "damn backwoods hicks!!!!" This movie got me so upset. Excellent acting. Hillary Swank rules.

Just Like a Woman... more oriented towards crossdressers, but you can tell that the character had gender issues that go far beyond the average closet crossdresser.

Here's the funny thing. Most of these movies are tragic. None show a TS living a life where she's totally accepted and happy. They all show someone overcoming adversity, which is cool, but jeez... there should be one happy movie in there somewhere! Movies with Mistress Formika, Candis Cayne, and Lady Bunny in outer space don't count.

Oh, wait... there is a movie with Candis Cayne in it where she plays a mobster's girlfriend... Mob Queen. I guess that's a happy one.

The 'good' movies ive seen about this topic all have very tragic endings (and seem to be based off real events)

Soldiers Girl. Hard to believe that actor wasnt a tgirl hey, he sure was pretty lol

Hilary Swank. have you seen 'Million Dollar Baby' also? she is definately amazing. Actually a lot of people think she is quite 'manly' even tho she's beautiful.

Yes, I've seen Million Dollar Baby last week, as a matter of fact. I could see why some guys would say she's manly. It's her face. She's very angular and chiseled, but her body is extraordinary. She's what some would call an "uncommon beauty."

Another Movie that I don't think anyone has mentioned yet is "Hedwig and the Angry inch" It shows on the Independent Film Channel ever so often. It has some good music in it too.

I watched Soldier's Girl for the first time a few monthes ago and I thought that was an amazing movie. I ended up buying it. I do agree that it seems that almost all Transgender related movies are tragic in one way or another. So I say let's work and get a script made for a positive story for the public. The time to go mainstream is upon us. Let's raise our torches and burn some butts!

... speaking of movies with tgirls in outer space, I was half-serious. Some guy in Brazil named Pablo has been sending me email for the past 4 years wanting to make a movie about my life but with weird stuff in it.. kind of like a surreal B movie. He had an idea about me being some sort of Amazonian goddess from outer space (see http://www.catwalkrecords.com/Images/wildridelefront187.jpg for where he got this idea... that's my CD). He wrote an entire script up and sent it to Troma Films (the Toxic Avenger producers), but the script got rejected. Oh, well. :o)
