"A quarter of a century after the outbreak of Aids, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has accepted that the threat of a global heterosexual pandemic has disappeared.

In the first official admission that the universal prevention strategy promoted by the major Aids organisations may have been misdirected, Kevin de Cock, the head of the WHO's department of HIV/Aids said there will be no generalised epidemic of Aids in the heterosexual population outside Africa.

Dr De Cock, an epidemiologist who has spent much of his career leading the battle against the disease, said understanding of the threat posed by the virus had changed. Whereas once it was seen as a risk to populations everywhere, it was now recognised that, outside sub-Saharan Africa, it was confined to high-risk groups including men who have sex with men, injecting drug users, and sex workers and their clients."

*Kaff!* BULLSHIT! *Kaff*

Is this maroon's name really de Cock?

Sorry, but this hits home real hard with me. I've lost friends and lovers to the 'bug' and take it very seriously. That shit sees no boundaries, be they skin color, geographic locale, economic background, level of education, religious belief, gender identity, or sexual preference.

Someone put a bullet in that fucking bastard's head before his mouth farts kill another hundred thousand people.

"New Delhi: The World Health Organisation has declared that the threat of a global heterosexual epidemic outside Africa might have passed.

The head of WHO's HIV/AIDS department Kevin de Cock has said that unlike Africa where the HIV virus has been found to be self-sustaining in the general population, a similar trend has not emerged in Asian countries."

The World Health Organisation thinks that the threat of the Africa AIDS situation - self-sustaining in the general population - is unlikely to be repeated in India, China etc.

Read the reports or Google WHO AIDS news at the moment.

AIDS hasn't gone. It will continue to kill, including heterosexuals. But WHO has concluded that concentrating on high risk groups will benefit everyone.

Many young people lack basic information about HIV and AIDS, and are unaware of the ways in which HIV infection can occur, and of the ways in which HIV infection can be prevented. Schools are an excellent point of contact for young people ? almost all young people attend school for some part of their childhood, and while they are there, they expect to learn new information, and are more receptive to it than they might be in another environment.
