leaving the internet alone...or at least the majority of it.
Seems like no matter where I go, I always end up, somewhat alienated. Sorry, if my views don't match up with the rest of the world. That's boring as hell. Sorry, I don't prance around like a school girl anytime a guy pays me a compliment. I'm a very direct, honest person and apparently, way too many people online just want to blend in and follow the crowd. Sheep is what I call them. Maybe I should pick another term. Don't want to piss off the lovers of animals over humans crowd.
Anywho, thus far, it seems to only places that I can have 100% freedom from widespread panic, if I should speak my mind are myspace, yahoo and here. Still, I contemplating leaving the internet alone altogether. It's died down drastically over the last few years. Most people are so hollow, fake and full of themselves it's not even funny. COme to think of it, a lot of them are on my friend's lists *lol* Not for long though.
Well, that's my rant for this holiday weekend. I'm going to be making some changes periodically, but one thing is for sure...I'm going to start living up to my nickname a lot more.
Unless next time, if there is one...

*LOL* On a side note to all of that, now I know how Michael Vick feels. Damn near everything I say or do seems to be radioactive to most.
Oh well...THAT'S LIFE!

I for one always appreciate your opinions and your directness, Raven. All the best, if you choose not to return, but I hope you stay or at least drop by now and then.

I like sheep, they are soft and furry and gentle and they have kind eyes. I am not saying I am exclusively into sheep, i like women in sheep outfits as well. Sometimes I dress the cats up as sheep and we play rancher. While sheep remain an unfulfilled fantasy at this point, I think that one of the advantages to seeing a sheep is that if things didn't work out, you would still get a nice dinner, and a sweater.

For me I will go the different sites, and forums to have different needs
met. Some forums that I belong to are for women only, some deal with
technology, and others are for other interests of mine.
As I work in IT, I can never leave the Internet, there always is a computer
with me logged in somewhere, either monitoring other computers, or
interfacing with 'humans'.
Perhaps you may want to pick and chose where you go on the web, and
discern what it is you hope to experience while you are on it.
The Internet is much like television, in that there are many sites that are
educational, inspirational, etc.
And then there are some that will turn your mind into 'mush'.

Simon: "Paula wake up you drunken hasbeen slut"
Paula:"Fuck you Simon you pompous twat".
Randy: "Dawg, which Jackson am I related to Jesse or Michael?"

I know exactly how you feel, Mystique.
It's the same case for me. I was really about to cancel my fee on my ISP when I found TGT. I was so fed up with lies, fakes, un-honest persons and this vaste majority of selfish people. I was disgusted about this so-called Human Kind.
Then I found TGT... And more I was talking to people, on this Forum, more I was charmed, more I was hooked. I finally found REAL People, over here. Kind, open-minded, honest, true to themselves and attentionate persons.
I know that almost 80% of the Human Race is disappointing (I'm generous, that's maybe more) , but there's still this 20% of remaining people number that I can trust and love. Thanks to them and because of them, I will not give up. I will hold on.
I do respect your decision. But, please, Mystique, stay with us.
If you leave TGT, it will be like if we loose an arm, or a jewel in an ocean of charcoal. We will loose someone precious.
So, stay with us, okay?
Please?

I've often thought about bailing from the net. It's become a massive cesspool of drivel in recent times and has yet to reach its full potential as either a good or bad influence on society as a whole. So, I can understand the need to get away from it. Yet, in my case, there'd be no one left to talk to (Save for TW, whose calls are eratic and infrequent, and the cats, who say much but little of it is in my own language). On the rare occasion that I do manage to ween myself from the phosphor teat it isn't long before I am baaaaaack.
I've always enjoyed reading your posts and hope you'll at least pop in to visit from time to time. I seem to recall a mention of another job evaluation later this year, so you know we'll be watching for another "Woo-hoo!" moment from you. :)
