As in alcoholic beverage? Some people think your drink says a lot about you, so name up to 3 drinks you really like...

Me...

1. Chambord and orange juice
2. Malibu Madras
3. Fuzzy Navel

Now, before you think I'm some kind of pansy, I used to drink really strong drinks when I was first going out, like Long Island Iced Teas and Red Deaths.

There's a drinker's drink! Strong, but with a subtle flavor. I was into something similar, vodka martinis, one night long ago. I had four of them and passed out in a bathroom in a club. I woke up in my bed the next day without any idea how I got there. :D

Interesting. I like Balvenie Doublewood, but Oban not a whit. I really favor the Islay whiskies first and Speyside second. Love Lagavulin, Bowmore, Dallas Dhu, Macallen, Ardbeg. Similar to Oban, I can't stand Talisker (yet Skye is probably my favorite location on the planet, the most beautiful island I've ever seen).

fascinating how variable singe malt can be...i like the Balvenie Founder's Reserve, Macallen, & most of the others you mentioned, Ecstatic. i don't even mind Talisker. but i can't abide Lagavulin....or Dahlwenie. i fondly recall starting my single malt exploration with 8-year old Aberlor, which is, sadly, no longer available. it was wonderful.....especially for the price

They sell those on Pratt & Monroe @ Bay Island Seafood. I used to walk there from a place I rented on Lombard & Mount (the REAL hood). Thank god I only lived their a few months. Me n my ex hit it to Owings Mills as fast as we could. It was definitely a learning experience. LMAO...

I don't drink but maybe 3 times a year so I don't really have a preference but I like my drinks SWEET.

Oban's horrible. Until very recently it was only ever sold for blending although they used to give some away to the workers (one of the perks) and directors and guests etc.

Nice town, but the fish suppers are bowff.

shake and strain into a martini glass

I'll come up with a name for it soon. The 99 Bananas liqueur is so awesome. Hiccup! :D

There are several places that get mobbed after Eagles and Phillies games, but the one place that comes to mind... on Front and Oregon is Tony Luke's which is now a very successful chain in Philly. They opened up stores in Rittenhouse Square (because the rich like cheesesteaks, too :D ) and on the Penn campus. Tony Luke's is really known for their pork sandwiches, though, which I'm not that fond of. I think their cheesesteaks are better.

I'm actually not a fan of Jim's Steaks. I like Pat's. I like Geno's. But the one cheesesteak place which I REALLY like... which has tender slices of meat on really soft rolls is Rick's Steaks in Reading Terminal. Rick is the grandson of Pat Oliveri. Pat's Steaks isn't even owned by Pat's family anymore. They sold it, from what I heard.

Termini Brothers is the best. Eat one of their sticky buns and you will have mouthful of cavities but enjoy every minute of it.

I've never been to Walt's (is it still around?) but I've been to Dinardo's. Actually, for crabs I used to go to Ocean City, MD for hard shells or Gunning's in Columbia, MD for their big ass crabcakes... I swear they were 8 ounces each.

I'm actually a Brooklyn transplant now living in Philly. Went to college in Boston. But I've lived in Philly for a while.

what i do is put a half shot or a little more of crown in, add a quarter shot of cranberry and a quarter shot of pucker, but if that is to strong or weak you can experiement...experimentation is always a plus, but either way the taste of the shot is sublime...:)

katelyn_brie
11-24-2005, 05:23 PM
oh duh ps it can also be made into a pretty tasty mixed drink, my recipe usually goes as follows, if its a large glass, two shots of crown, one of apple pucker, and add cranberry to desired level....hope you are all getting chronked too...
