New Jersey recently passed a law which goes into effect June 16, 2007 that makes it illegal for employers or landlords to discriminate against transgendered people. NJ is one of eight states to have passed such a law.

It's another sign of increasing recognition of the issues and social progress.

Go, NJ! Damn, but that state's a lot hipper than I ever used to give it credit for being (my wife's from "da shore" and is impressed with her old state too, though she hasn't lived there in *cough* decades).
