Hello all!

I hope everyone is enjoying the spring so far. I just wanted to drop by to give an update about my job. My first day was Monday, June 4 and it went well. Just a run through of everything I would be doing, along with getting to know my coworkers. I'm the youngest of the bunch, but everyone so far has been very cool. It's a VERY laid back job most of the time. There is always something to do though, but no rush to do everything in one day. I still try to put some hustle into my day. I guess I'm doing a good job because I got my first commendation on my third day. Someone random called the HR department and tell them I was very pleasant, polite and extremely helpful. Nice to know that such a good report is going in my file this early. She also wished them the best of luck on an obviously great hire!

SUCCESS!!! *YAY*

I'm almost done with my second week and so far it's been rather quiet. I'm getting the hang of everything a little quicker than I expected. By the end of the month, I should be great. I still haven't received my first paycheck (that's next week), but just knowing it's coming is ABSO-FRIGGIN-SMURFLY FABULOUS!!! *LOL*

On a side note...it's funny how I went so long without a job and now that I have one, companies are starting to call me. I've had offers from 2 well-known companies just within the last 3 weeks. "Back then they didn't want me...now I'm hot they all on me."

I hope life is as positive for all of you as it is for me. If not, just keep your head up. The sun is just over the horizon!

I'm happy that you're happy.

I'm glad that things are working out, and that you are liking them
and they are liking you.

Interesting about the other job offers. It's alot like love, when we're
alone, nobody is interested in us, when we get in a relationship people
come out of the woodwork.

On a related note, would you consider taking one of those positions, and
perhaps working two jobs or a job and a half, perhaps if not now but in the
future. You might consider doing it for a short while, that way you could
accelerate the transition things that you would like to achieve.

Mystique,

I've been missing your posts (Here, there, and everywhere) but am glad to know that it's because you've been bizzy with the job thing. I know how hard you've been moving towards this and am happy to see that things are going well.

Great nooz to hear! :) Now your people can get up with my people and we can do lunch at the Terminal soon. :)

Izzit still 'Spring' up there? Hell, we're already well into our Summer flooding here in Delawhere. Bleah. I really should have learned to swim.

Please keep us in tune with your continuing adventures. :)

Big congrats, Mystique. It's great to hear that the job is going so well. You're right about getting job offers suddenly when you've finally got one. Headhunters have been ringing my phone off the hook these past 2-3 months as the technology market has picked up here in Mass, but I'm not interested so long as I can keep myself floating (NOT B1's style with the flooding, lol) and be in business for myself.

Anyway, again big congrats! You've earned it.

I think that showing evidence that you are wanted and desirable -- whether in the job market or in the romance "market" -- makes you more instantly attractive. On the other hand, if the evidence is somewhat hidden, people evaluating you are slower to react.

Funny, I've noticed this too -- e.g. if I go out dancing on a date and I'm clearly happy and smiling, sometimes other women come up to me. (Of course, I would only dance with my date.) But when I was alone I looked more sullen and women rarely approached me.

Anyway, congrats to MystiquEvolution for her job. She sound very upbeat, always a big plus in the workplace.

Thanks for the support Maggiegee! I really appreciate all the words of wisdom and just trying to help me stay focused. I actually have considered taking up a part time job to help speed things up. I still have to make it through my 6 month probation period with the city. Once that's done, I'll look for something on the side. That would help soooo much with surgery savings and getting my own place. As always, I'll keep you informed *wink*

PS ~ As for the association you made with jobs and relationships...I've heard that happens a lot, but I can't say I've experienced that. Whether I'm single or in a relationship, no one pays me much attention. When it comes to work, they definitely come after me though. I had another company call me Friday. Go figure! *lol*

PPS ~ On a sidenote, speaking of relationships...I made it through 1 year with my gf!

Sorry about the lack of posting B1. I've been trying to limit my time online lately. Between my work schedule and packing up to move next week, I've been a busy bee! *buzz buzz buzz* Thanks for always having something nice to say and cheering me up with some of your posts. I appreciate the support.

As soon as I have things all squared away, we can assemble the crews for lunch.

Hmm...dare I consider going to one of Allanah's parties too one day?

Thanks Ecstatic! ***HUGS*** It does feel nice to be wanted in the business industry, however a bit annoying that none of them could have called me sooner. I guess it just wasn't my time or the right opportunity before. Had I taken something sooner, I wouldn't have such a great job now. It all worked out in the end though. Good luck to you too in your pursuit of being in business for yourself!

Hmm...perhaps that's my problem with romance. When I'm single I keep to myself, but when I'm in a relationship I don't have a need to be out and about. Stay out of sight and no one really notices your good fortune or happiness.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY EVERYONE!!!

Usually I don't care much about holidays, but this one is special to me for a change. Today marks 1 full month of me working. While I'd rather be at work right now, it's nice to have some time off to remember what a holiday really is *lol*

I LOVE MY JOB! Most of the time it's easy and I actually have been bored on occasion. Other times, it's busy and I'm moving nonstop. It's all worth it in the end though. That first paycheck was...

FAN-FUCKING-TASTIC!!!

Turns out I'm bringing home a lot more than I originally estimated. That's always a plus. I've already started saving up for some future plans. I'll finally be moving out on my own and getting my first apartment next year. I'm also planning for my implants and ffs (although those won't be happening for at least a year or so). I'm considering Thailand as a top option for my surgeries. Then, there was booty! I'm getting that worked on too, very soon. I can't wait!

Overall, life is good. I can complain about a few things, but there are so many more positives to focus on. I'll just ride the winds and see where they carry me for now. Hope all is well with everyone else.

Enjoy the holiday!!!

Greetings all!

Just dropping by to share some updates. Yes...I'm still working and today I received my 5 month evaluation. All positives and I have been recommended for permanent status. My 6 month probation will be over in December!!! Seems like just yesterday I was stressing and depressed about how my life was going. I guess being persistent does pay off in the end, but still I feel luck has a lot to do with it. Once I'm off probation, I can breathe a sigh of relief, but that doesn't mean I'm going to ease up. I'm actually in the process of looking for a second job. YUP...from sun up to sun down, I'm going to be a workaholic. I was worried about my job for a while, considering how ENDA has gone. I just kept thinking, "I could lose my job over this shit or maybe not get my second job." Thankfully, it hasn't been an issue working for the city, but the other is still up in the air.

I'm also working on getting my life together in other aspects. Provided I get the second job, I'll be moving into my very first apartment by the end of May. I know that's a long time off, but I'm just so excited about the possibilities. I've also been keeping up with my laser hair removal and I'm happy to say that my face is 85% complete (THAT'S A MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENT TRUST ME...LOL). 2008 will also be the time to start working on surgeries too.

As you can see, I've been keeping busy. All of this and I just celebrated my 21st birthday (again) on Sunday *tehehe* I'm heading to the strip club with friends tomorrow evening to cap off all the achievements. Afterall...what's the point in having money if you can't enjoy it and share the wealth from time to time.

So much more to come...

Just thought I would drop by to give a quick update. 2008 has been great so far. It's been an extremely positive year thus far, I have no doubts it will only continue to get better.

I'm happy to report, I'm still working for the city and still loving my job. June 4th will be 1 full year since they hired me. Amazing how time files. Out of work for almost 2 years and now it all seems like a distant memory. I'll be getting a promotion and a raise too after my first year *YAY!* I'm currently looking for a second job. Yes, I LOVE MONEY and have no problem working hard for it. I'll sleep when I'm dead *LOL*

Working hard has paid off for me. In mid April, I finally moved out from under my Mother's wing and got my own place. I've been on my own for almost a month now and I'm absolutely thrilled!

I've got a lot of other things planned for the very near future. My highschool reunion, anniversary, etc...but up next on my agenda...

GET ME BODIED!!!

I hope all is well with everyone. Peace and blessings to all. Be safe and enjoy life!

Greetings TGT!

Just dropping by to update everyone on what's been going on. Sorry for posting or being more involved. I've been going through A LOT lately.

First, the good. All is well with work. Almost a year and a half of working for the city. Nothing is ever perfect, but I still wake up with a smile on my face because I love this job. All has been well with me being on my own also. I never knew I would enjoy myself this much, living alone. It does get lonely though, since my friends don't visit me much. At least my cat keeps me company....sometimes ;) Looking ahead, with 2009 rapidly approaching, I think it will be a BIG year! I have a few goals I would like to reach and I think things will start rolling early. I'm not too far off from gaining a second job. Yippie skippy!

Now for the bad. Although I am working hard and saving what I can, I still haven't been able to save any money towards surgery. Rent and bills are paid early with no problem, but after that there isn't much. Then I look at many of my girlfriends who don't have jobs and they look like SuperModels. It's a real mind fuck for me. I really think it's effecting my sanity. My last major accomplishment (transition-wise) was getting my name changed back in 2004. Hopefully 2009 brings something new. I'm tired of being plain Jane.

As many of you know, I was involved in a car accident last year. Still, despite a bit of head trauma, a CT scan or MRI was never authorized. The full effects of a concussion are still not yet known. Many of the after effects, I'm still dealing with. Dizziness, unable to focus, memory loss, etc...I literally asked my friend the same question 3 times in a row. Now she called me Dory (the forgetful fish from 'Finding Nemo') If I'm right, this is my 3 concussion and it's not going well. *Sigh* One day, doctors may actually do their jobs.

Finally, the ugly. As I said, my sanity is fading fast. Then again, many of my closest friends will debate if I ever had it to begin with *LOL* With all of these things going on, the worst part is that I'm single again. My longest relationship is now over and it hasn't be pretty by any stretch of the imagination. The unpleasantries are still lingering. Hopefully things ease up before it gets violent. There aren't too many options left after you've been threatened.

Well, that's it sports fans. Wait...speaking of sports fans, let me just say...

I REALLY FUCKING HATE BASEBALL!!!!!!

Yes, I live in Philly and the Phillies won the World Series. Big damn deal. My main issue, if you are going to have a parade, don't make it during the work week. I shouldn't be delayed and hour and a half, getting home because I have to fight through all these damn people to catch the train. It's bad enough NO BODY at my job actually worked Friday (other than myself of course), but now I can't go straight home. Not cute!

Hopefully things are better for everyone else. Life isn't all bad, but there is always room for improvement. I'll be working on it!

Congrats on the job still going strong after a year and a half! That's got to feel good. Sorry to hear about the financial and medical sitch, though. I hope things turn around for you in both areas, especially the medical. I was in a near-fatal car accident 25 years ago which included a concussion, and it was hell to get proper medical attention and insurance payments, so I empathize with you there.

I'm sorry to hear about the lack of progress on the surgery front and that things haven't worked out on the relationship side. Keep fighting on.

Perhaps you'll drop in to post for a while, until things get sunnier in your neck of the woods.

Best wishes.
