Do you think overall, T-girls have big egoes, especialyl the ones who got implants or on hormones? i have noticed from some posts and from some Tgirls here that their egoes are the size of Earth.

From my observation, many but not all tgirls have big egos. The scale though is so drastic being that there are those that have none then there are those with really big egos. There doesn't seem any that take the middle ground.
It often recalls how Molly Brown (Kathy Bates character in the film Titanic) was described as new money. :eek:

Some do. There are most definitely divas amongst tgirls. But many are also pretty down-to-earth. I think it takes some ego to be able to transition altogether, and if a tgirl is totally passable, then that's certainly an ego boost.

Ecstatic: I think I know what you mean, but there is ego which is healthy and creates personality- then there is ego which is just unbecoming of a woman. There are those that have the healthy ego diva-like persona, then there are those who have a very unattractive- almost insulting attutide. Maybe becomes everyone is trying to out-pass everyone else, not really sure what the deal is- but it's a little childish.

Seriously, I've seen quite a range of egos within the spectrum of gurls I've 'met' online in the past year or so. Some were massive and overshadowed (And in some cases damn near steamrolled) others while some barely seemed to have enough juice to them to be seen (I guess you could call this 'shyness').

I don't think they are any more inclined to over-ego themselves than any other segment of the population, and the sampling of my experience (Which tend to be the more public, gregarious-by-design, professional gurls) may provide a skewed view of the general nature of the TS community as a whole.

Seriously, I feel that some tgirls overemphasize their transitions too much... flaunting their "passability" in front of other Tgirls. I see this phenemon in Silver Swan. Passable Tgirls come to S.S. to preen and flaunt in front of other old or ugly or unpassable cross-dressers. It makes me feel sad to see that.

Perhaps some do have huge egos, but that is their issue. Whether Pre-op, Post-op, Non-op, CD, or GG, NO one is any better or any worse than the next person.

Just keep in mind that anyone truly secure with themselves does not have the need to put anyone else down.

MsDazzler, you come across as thoughtful and with a healthy self-regard, not as vain and pompous.

From my limited experience with TGirls, several who have gone to the trouble to have implants, hormones, and to dramatically change their bodies are quite vain about their appearance, even narcissistic. For example, one that I knew participated in beauty pageants and had trophies and many pictures of herself in her apartment. On the other hand, she was wary of encounters with straight people because of some bad experiences. So I guess she was over-compensating when she was in a crowd of people who accepted her. But it's hard to generalize from the few TGirls that I've known

On a more general ground, I've found that people who are overly egotistical about some strength they have are usually, though not always, compensating for some other weaknesses or fears. My suggestion is to work on your weaknesses and try to achieve a balance of strengths, then remain modest.

A healthy ego, and good self esteem can be a good thing, however like anything else, if taken to extreme it can be problematic.

My take on the girls with the over inflated egos is that it is due to one of two things:

1. Many girls when they are 'new to this' may have their egos stroked by all the newly found attention and adulation. Men are at 'their lives', often for the wrong reasons. In their former gender they may have been marginalized by society, no one paid much attention to them, or people were very cruel and abusive to them.

But now that they have 'face and body' their heads get on swoll, as people are paying them compliments and there may be financial benefits, as they relize that they can make money off of their looks.

2. The second reason addresseses the point that 'flombago' and others have made. People who sufer from low self esteem may attempt tp compensate for their lack by over-compensating in other areas.

Indded this is a classic Freudian defense mechanism known as 'compenstion'.

Compensation occurs when someone takes up one behaviour because one cannot accomplish another behaviour. For example, the second born child may clown around to get attention since the older child is already an accomplished scholar. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sigmund_Freud#Defense_Mechanisms

Thus a girl with low self esteem may put down others in an attempt to balance her sense of self worth.

Women, be they TS/TG or GG, have a very different relationship with their tits/ta-ta's/breasts/bosoms/bazongas/lodge tracts o'land/etc. than we, as the men that desire and admire them do.

I've seen men look at gorgeous women and shrug and say "Cute, but flat" while others have seen gurls after breast augmentation and proclaim "No! She's ruined herself!".

I knew a lovely GG in high school that had lovely breasts, bordering on the large size, and she often opined that she felt her breasts were too small. :roll:

Yet, even GGs in their natural state (Before breast augmentation or, it happens, reduction), showed levels of egocentricity (Is that even a real word?) commensurate to their bra size. Smaller/flat women were often soft-spoken and shy while the more 'blessed' were gregarious and flamboyant.

Note that I am speaking from a purely American standpoint. I'd be curious to know if the same patterns cross the oceans.

On the one hand the TS subculture has it's hierarchy which is based partly on looks. Furthermore those procedures's aren't cheap they represent a certain monitary status. To put it delicately crap flows downhill.

On the other hand. This could all be in your head. I have on many occasions socialized around and with some pretty fantastic TS's who have had all that and never felt that they were showing me up. Mabey that just means I am as full of crap as they are. :cool:

I have learned from life and being a young TS that it is better to be Humble. I know now that You can attract more fly's with honey than Vinegar. I know Tgirls that are older with careers so it has helped me in seeing what I want in my future.

There has always been the saying(s) that 'More than a handful/mouthful is wasted', referring to breast size. I had one friend who was quite proud that his girlfriend sported 'champaigne glass tits' (Wide, but flat). Personally, I gravitate towards natural formations, more to the small, manageable side. :D

Oh, I disagree with that, B1. Poorly done "storeboughts" (like Tara Reid's first boob job) yes, or, sadly, those where the breast reacts against the implant, forming very hard scar tissue all around it, making it very hard to touch and even creating painful pressure and forcing removal.
