It's really quite easy to get to the party: FDR Drive to 42nd St to 5th Ave to 39th St. (Opaline's is the same location as Club Shelter). Right near Bryant Park and the NYC Public Library. The big question is drive time if you're driving down, as that depends on traffic: I've done it in 3 hours, but also taken 5 hours. Of course, I'm heading out from Marlboro, just north of the Mass Pike, which shaves a good half hour off the drive time from Boston. Or you can take the train into the city; the train is really awkward from here (I'd have to drive into Worcester to get it), but should be a breeze from Boston.

The other question is where to stay. Hotels in midtown are not cheap. Last time I stayed at the Dylan Hotel, which is a very short walk (maybe 3 blocks) from the club, nice place, rooms around $240 iirc. I know Tara Emory has driven down for the night at the party then driven back the next day, but personally I'd want some down time before driving back.

I'm bummed I can't make Moni's party, it being so far and on a Sunday, so I really hope I can make this one. There's still a lot of factors before I'll know if I can make it--probably won't know until the week of the party.
