Reasonable Dose?

Right now I have been taking 2mg Estrofem and 50mg Spiro due to recently quitting a job and needing to extend the hormones rather than meet my typical dosage.

What do you all think about 4mg Estrofem, 100mg Prometrium, and 100mg Spiro? To much? Just right? To little?

I know we are all different, but with no doc I play it by ear and listen to my body. From what I know this is a typical dose, if a bit low on the estrofem and spiro.

From what I know this is a typical dose, if a bit low on the estrofem and spiro.I've been taking 100 mg a day of Spironolact from the beginning (1 full month now). And I suspect that by Tuesday, he will up it to 200 mg a day. He told me that 200 will be my max, and I will probably stay at that. That seems fairly common based on what I hear. Although, I told two people that I was taking 100 mg/day, and both were suprised that it hadn't been 200 mg from the very beginning. But as you said, everyone is different.* Edit: Based on HTG's above post, please do not up your dosage because of what I posted here. I had blood work done very recently, and will be doing so fairly regularly. In retrospect, I have to agree w/ Harajuku that your approach sounds a bit risky.

I agree with HTG. Do not self-medicate yourself especially with hormones. Each person is different and you should be under a doctor's supervision.

Trust me on the homework here, please. Also understand that not everyone has the luxury of being able to see a doctor, be it for $$$ reasons or something more personal. I am *very* well read on the issues and also very hypochondriac about possible side effects. I stay with low doses.

Also, I would never do 200mg spiro without a doc. 100mg worked fine for me as far as I could tell and being heavier I would not want to up the risk of a blood clot like that.

girl the best thing to do is ask every individual tgirls what the maximum dosages are and compare..but never go above highest dosage, just to keep on the safe side,just stay in between or 3/4 the highest dose....

I have been self-medicating for months....It's not the smartest thing to do but I just cannot afford to see a doctor. I started off with 100mg Spiro and 2mg Estrofem, after three months I upped my dosage to 200mg Spiro and 4mg Estrofem. I haven't noticed any side effects but I would still like to have some blood work done atleast.

I agree with Arianna, don't put yourself down hun....I used to do that allot and you will feel so much better when you learn to accept yourself and realize that you are a very beautiful girl, don't let anyone make you believe otherwise.

That's a good start, but you shouldn't up it until you are absolutely certain your body can handle it. Give it 30 to 60 days before you even think about upping a dosage.

This is what I take: 4mg estrafem, 200mg spiro, and 10mg provera. For the estrafem and spiro, I do 2mg and 100mg, respectively, at 10am and 5pm. I used to take 6mg estrafem (4mg in the morning and 2mg at night), but that really didn't improve my look.

It's probably a good idea to go to a free clinic and get some advice from a doc who knows how to deal with tgirl hormone dosages. At your nearest gay community center, they should be able to direct you to such a clinic. These places often use a sliding scale depending on your income with $10 being the minimum you usually have to pay to get this needed prescription from a licensed doctor.

To each thier own, yes. You sound like you have no one to help you or guide you hunni. I personally am gonna start medicating myself, but i have a few people to guide me through it... What i realized here is your gonna get alot of different opinions, and i dont know how exactly you analyze them, your gonna have every opinion in the book. Why? Cause everyones different. Hunni I know your talking about school and money is tough, and this i can understand, but me bieng ABOUT to start mones, My opinion hopefully matters also cause last thing you need to do is up your dose without a doctor, or the knowledge ;) as Arianna said do NOT rely on a forum for all that, what you need is to talk to someone, one on one... someone you can trust and knows alot about you, or let them know alot about you.. well anyways Mainly my thing is, dont go into this blindfolded.... the source you used to find out the dosage your using now... go to that or even find someone whos real....then talk things out with them... be careful

Even though it's wrong self medicating, I understand that some are "forced" to do so. what doses do you plan on taking.

after advise from my doctor, I increased my dosis of Estrogen from 1mg. to 2mg. a day.

right now we are talking about bringing anti androgen in too in 50mg. doses (2x25Mg.) and upping the E to 3mg. and then monitor my progress.

I do hope that it will eventually change my looks, so it fits my inner self.

best advice is to talk to a doctor, tell them your situation, and ask what you should do.

never titrate a dose up or down without doctors approval.
