a tampon should be changed every 2-4 hours depending on what absorbency you use and how heavy your flow is and some you can leave in overnight when you sleep but that is only because your laying down and they say your flow is alot less when your sleep and laying down and a tampon should never be enless you are on your menstral cycle is says that on the directions on can became very sick by using a tampon when not needed

If you wanted to wear a panty liner or a thin light day tampon "in" your panty, that might be acceptable. It could smooth "bulges" while tucking, as well as being aromatic. Further this may give you the pyschological re-inforcement you seek.

However, inserting a tampon into the rectum is highly un-advisable for health reasons, and asthetically.
